Today I tried the Ten Pin Porter from Ska Brewing Company in Durango Colorado.  I have had a few other beers from this Colorado micro brew.  This porter was well worth the time to sit and enjoy this very dark, and wonderfully robust beverage.  According to Ska Brewing and their website they say this beer is as dark as motor oil on a Minnesota night.  I would have to agree.  This tar black carbonated wonder has the intoxicating aroma of dark hops and a slight chocolatey smell that one would expect to smell in a world class porter.  To me porter is a misunderstood beer and one that should be sought out and experimented with.  I enjoyed my 12 oz. beauty in a nice glass alongside an Italian sausage laced bolognese and it stood up well to the fat of the sausage and the acidity of the tomatoes.  Plenty of dark earthy flavors poked their heads in and out of this complex drink as it warmed in my glass while eating.  Go try some.....
